INTRODUCING....

Prairie

Pond

Woods

A dream of a lifetime has c
ome true with the opening of Prairie Pond Woods, a retreat for those who want to slow down a bit...to re-connect with themselves and discover the Nature of God.

As the name suggests, our 27 acres are diverse with woodlands, a one acre pond and fields of prairie flowers and grasses. One walk on the "Refresher Course," the footpath that winds throughout the property, allows you to rediscover your senses. You are sure to encounter darting dragonflies, hear the songs of 51 bird species (and counting) in spring and the see the bright orange flowers of butterfly weed in late summer.

Feel the hilltop breeze as you step out onto the deck to witness the black velvet sky filled with millions of galaxies, an experience difficult to have in other places where there are so many lights.

The two bedroom home can accomodate one to four adults for a personal weekend get-a-way, or a week-long vacation of wildflower viewing, hiking, birdwatching or photography. The Refresher Course has eight adirondack chairs along the way where you can sit, read, think or just let your imagination wander.

There are many other interesting places to visit in the Adams County area, all within a 30-minute drive. Lynx Prairie, a National Landmark and one of the oldest remnant prairies in Ohio, is only five minutes down the road. Both the Wilderness Trail and Buzzard's Roost Trail, part of the 12,000 acre Edge of Applachia Preserve system, are 15 minutes away. Shawnee State Park and Shawnee State Forest can be reached in 25 minutes. Many Adams County Amish businesses, including hand-made furniture, farm markets and bakeries, are also nearby.

So, come away...
