GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT

Can you guess how many cardinals are in my crab tree out front?

This is for the Great Backyard Bird Count sponsored by the Cornell Ornithological Laboratory. Here's a few pictures of some of the birds in both winter wonderlands.

Purple Finch

Angry Blue Jay...is there any other kind?

Male Cardinal

Pileated Woodpecker...at my deck feeder no less

Juncos, purple finch, song sparrow, American tree sparrow, goldfinches

Yellow-Rumped...an over-wintering warbler.
He likes to sit in the maple tree and attack other birds at the feeder

As if...

Answer: There are about 16 cardinals, both male and female.
